Desert Trail

“Wadi Rum” I exclaimed to the teeny bopper freshmen hovering my office “Is one hell of an experience. You will experience the fascination of the desert and enjoy calm, spaciousness and seclusion amidst nature.”

Yes… Wadi Rum is one hell of an experience or should I say experiences?! Two years ago I was dealing with an intoxicated person who by all means meant nothing to me, yet we bonded like never before on the three day trip in the middle of firkin no where, and ever since then all feelings of grudge, hatred and uncomfortable ness was washed away.

This November was different, if I had known the consequences I would’ve stayed home to catch up on Derek and Meredith and their roller coaster love affair. I wasn’t planning on jumping on a roller coaster my self but guess what!? I did. Silly me!

The seclusion cleared my thoughts, the burning fire ahead of me allowed passion to crawl back into my life and the coldness, I’m not sure if it was my subconscious telling me that the trembling is about to last for another month, or just a sign that it is possible to be in a heated situation yet feel as cold as a dead fish because emotions are too complicated to be spoken.

Indeed, Wadi Rum was an experience, and the 7th and 8th of November are two days I’ll never forget. At the time they meant nothing and all I wanted is a bubble bath, a massage and a bed with as many fluffy pillows as humanely possible, it wasn’t until a week later that the after math of Rum hit me and today, a month later, it still hasn’t untangled it self.

So if your reading this, I suggest you take a 3 hour drive down to the desert, lay on the freezing cold sand, feel the blazing fire burn the side of your face and gaze into the stars… but before you leave take a look at the person next to you… who knows, it might as well be the person you’ll fall head over heals for. And don’t tell me that I didn’t warn you! :)
